Golden State Warriors battle-tested after tough Western Conference Semifinals
Stephen Curry bombed in a 3-pointer with 24.9 seconds remaining Wednesday night, helping the Golden State Warriors hold off the Portland Trail Blazers 125-121 and win the Western Conference semifinal playoff series four games to one.

The MVP announcement last season came the day before Game 2 of Golden State’s second-round series against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The event will take place Friday, from 9 a.m.to 9 p.m., at the Warriors Team Store at Oracle Arena.
Golden State returns home with a chance to clinch its second straight trip to Round 3 as Portland hopes to win this game and send it back to OR for Game 6. When it was time to win games, they did things better than us.
The pair could come together in the NBA Finals for a second consecutive season, if defending champions the Warriors and Cavaliers make it through the respective conference matchups. The 28-year-old Curry has garnered all the first-place votes from a panel of sports journalists and one vote from MVP fan making him the first National Basketball Association player in the league’s history to win the title unanimously. He proceeded to finish with 29 points and 11 assists, hitting four free throws to seal the win, and raising his arm as he had the ball as the final seconds ticked away.
Curry might not have been rattled, but he and the Warriors didn’t get off to a great start. “You know, that’s not taking anything from anyone that’s ever won the award”. “That might be the closest five-game series of all-time”. And the Warriors don’t particularly care whether that means San Antonio or Oklahoma City. And the banged-up Warriors could use the time to get healthy.
“Just a fantastic series”, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said.
“A gutty effort by a lot of guys”, Kerr said”. “The impact he’s had on the game is really dramatic”.

Dwyane Wade scored 20 for Miami, while Goran Dragic and Josh Richardson each had 13. The award was an exclamation point after his historic performance in Game 4, and and a welcome back party after his recent absence. Curry’s knee, Draymond Green’s ankle, which his glorious mother Mary Babers thoughtfully Tweeted had been tweaked in Game 4, and Bogut’s right adductor muscle and delicate bits all need some heat, stim and spackle before the grind resumes. But now, down 3-1 and heading into Oakland on the night when Curry gets a trophy, this is a very tall mountain to climb.
“We should be proud of the way we pushed them, but you have to give them credit”, Lillard said. “It could easily have been a seven-game series”. But in those first three games, Golden State was still without their injured megastar Stephen Curry.
“He reinvents the game every time he takes the floor”, Silver said. He learned to lead the team as the unquestioned best player, he improved defensively (even if he’s still a minus on that end, slightly), he competed harder and learned about getting teammates involved.

No matter the opponent, Golden State wants to keep going on this remarkable run. In case you’re wondering, the Warriors have not lost three games in a row since losing on November 23, 2013.to the Blazers, interestingly enough.
