Golden State Warriors Make NBA History With Win Over Los Angeles Lakers

Elsewhere, Indiana made a club-record 19 3-pointers in a 123-106 win over Washington, the Los Angeles Clippers ended a three-game losing streak with a 111-94 victory over Denver, and Atlanta routed Boston 121-97.

A 16-0 start has been the pinnacle for teams in the National Basketball Association at the start of the season.

“We got stops when we need them the most, and that’s what you have to do when your offense isn’t clicking”, Chicago coach Fred Hoiberg said.

“The challenge for them is going to be conflict”, Bryant explained.

Kobe Bryant had had an terrible night.

Golden State’s next two games are Friday at Phoenix and Saturday at home against the Sacramento Kings. He and the rest of the coaching staff celebrated the streak by congratulating each player in the locker room and reminding them that there’s more work to be done.

“I doubt it”, a smiling Stephen Curry said. “I think there’s an appreciation of how hard that is, after what we went through previous year, winning 67, and the trend that we’re on right now”. The advantage extended to 41 in the fourth quarter. Not so surprisingly, the Warriors still managed to take a massive lead on a Lakers team that has the habit of falling flat on its face. “During the streak, we had some slippage, had some games that we really didn’t play like ourselves”.

On Tuesday, the Lakers were more observers to history than participants.

The 16-win challenge is done. The Warriors made it clear to each other in recent days they wanted 16-0. CJ McCollum added 18 points.

Jordan finished with 11 rebounds and four blocks, while Griffin had 10 rebounds. Both were an absurd +36 on the game. They bring some joy to the arena, to the Bay Area, and it’s special. On Tuesday, purple was scarce, and Bryant was booed mercilessly in introductions.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green makes a pass against the Los Angeles Lakers, during their game in Oakland on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. He bounded around the arena, staring down Laker players while making a throat slash gesture. The Lakers were able to convert three turnovers into seven points. Green scored 12 points in the quarter, hitting two 3-pointers, blocking two shots.

As one West Coast empire crumbles, another one tries to rise. Questions about 72 wins were deflected and rejected.

“We had some times where I thought we were getting after them pretty good”, Lakers coach Byron Scott said. When asked about such a possibility, owner Joe Lacob chanted, “17, 17”, before vanishing through a corridor.

“All of that aside, we feel we haven’t probably received the credit we deserve after everything we achieved as a team last season, and the way things have panned out to begin 2015-16”.

“[Kerr] is handling it as good as he can”, Walton reported. The attention is on process, with the trust that results will follow.

Walton just thinks a string of games on the road can wear a team down and there’s destined to be an off night somewhere.

For Kerr, mindfulness means not relying on just talent to outdo an opponent or focusing on individual marks. The Warriors respond by focusing on their particular week.
