Golovkin Prepared To Face Saunders

If the two fighters are unable to agree to a deal within that time, then the WBA will order a purse bid.

Billy Joe Saunders claims he would fight Gennady Golovkin “in a field” because he is so keen to face him. Golovkin, 34, is expected back in the ring on November 26 on HBO.

‘They have no real options because Senior is terrified his son will get beat and the gravy train will stop. 147 pound champ Jessie Vargas was not finalized, he then challenged 3G Golovkin for his 4 Middleweight Title belts- W.B.A., W.B.C., I.B.F., & I.B.O. -since 3G’s 2 proposed fights with Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez and then Chris Eubanks, Jr. were also cancelled. It was the bigger man who knew there was only one path to victory and that his greater strength and power would be worthless if he didn’t apply it.

Former WBO middleweight king Lee (34-3-1) is eager to return to the ring after taking time off following his world title loss to Billy Joe Saunders in December past year. In fact, one judge had Brook up after four rounds, while the other two had it even at 38-38. His physique looked thinner. His trainer Abel Sanchez agreed.

Golovkin has rarely been hurt in his outstanding career but he was marked around the face by the end of the second as the skillful Brook landed a fearsome uppercut.

The usually accurate Golovkin missed more than usual and was hit by several hard combinations from Brook. “It doesn’t bother me, we’ll fight anywhere you want to fight”.

“We tried to make that (Saunders) fight before in the United Kingdom and it didn’t go very far”.

They were scheduled to face off as professionals in 2014, in NY, but the fight was cancelled when Golovkin’s father passed away. “Absolutely. I am open for everybody”. I can ask a lot of questions of him taht nobody else can ask of him in our division.

Golovkin said he’s interested in fighting Jacobs, but in the next breath, he said he wants the unification fight against Saunders. He’s talked about wanting to fight him, but he’s not taken the fight. I have no qualms about challenging Danny or Gennady or any other top fighter, I am in the business of fighting that is what I do for a living. “I was talking to him, and he knows me, he saw me growing up as a kid”. He keeps banging on he wants a chance at the belt. The unfortunate about the WBA ordering the Golovkin-Jacobs fight now is that the fight could potentially slow Golovkin up for a fight against Saunders. However, as we saw against Brook, he quickly assesses the situation and adjusts and forces the fighter in front of him to fight nearly minute to minute while looking for an answer, and the strain of boxing/fighting like that takes so much out of a fighter in that predicament.

“We want to fight the best, point blank, period. GGG is the best, and that’s the guy that we want”.

Brook, the IBF world welterweight champion, had stepped up two weight divisions to fight the fearsome Kazakh. In some ways that’s not a conventional boxing IQ, but the adjustment and acceptance to get hit was a tactic that had to be adopted by GGG so that he could impose himself physically on Brook.

On Friday night, at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania, Jacobs retained his version of the title for the fourth time by knocking out former junior middleweight titlist Sergio Mora in the seventh round of their rematch.

“They’re like rabbits in the headlights when they look at him”. However, Jacobs has a reputation for having a chin problem that Golovkin could expose in the fight.

The guts Brook showed by stepping in the ring with Golovkin are admirable, but this fight only goes to highlight the conundrum of facing Golovkin. That would be a huge accomplishment for Golovkin.

Golokin has a knockout ratio of 91.4 % and has scored 23 straight knockouts, could Brook withstand such punishment round after round and survive.

There was little coming back as Golovkin landed some thumping blows and trainer Dominic Ingle threw in the towel which was initially unseen by the referee. Brook is a powerful welterweight, but is not more than a 154-pound fighter despite his ease of reaching 160 pounds, something Brook admitted after the fight.
