Gone fishin’ in Michigan: Sinkhole turned into fishing hole by Detroit
Yvette Pugh, an area resident, told Fox 2 Detroit, “My husband, he’s a fisherman, he put them in the pond”.

“The city works who’ve gone through here have known about it. We just chose to turn this into something handsome in the community”.
Naturally, the people of the area were bothered by the cavernous hole in their road, especially when a nearby water main broke, filling the pit with water.
Residents around Hull Street and McNichols turn a sinkhole into a fish pond, Kim Russell of WXYZ reports.
It’s also a fun thing for the kids to do and learn about, and they like to point out the fish that they caught.
A giant hole on Hull Street in the city’s East Side has been around for about four years now. “It’s relaxing, its solitude, and people come by watch the fish swim”.
Since the sinkhole was filled with fish, it’s become something of an attraction in the neighborhood. “We have a lawn chair, and we enjoy seeing the fish float around”, resident Pete Bolden told WXYZ News.
The hole is now being inspected by Water Department officials.
The origin of the sinkhole, however, remains unclear. They added fish to the sinkhole.
The large hole, which measures 15 feet long by four feet wide and is a “couple feet” deep, was dug by a gas utility company several years ago and the work simply wasn’t completed. Some apparently even go fishing there.
As for the water in the hole, it’s from a leak that the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department is now trying to track down, Eno told ABC News.

The water department crews said markings on the road indicate a utility company started work there.
