Gone Home: Console Edition Jumps to Xbox One in January 2016
One of the most acclaimed PC indie games of recent years, Gone Home, is finally coming to consoles, including the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Now, however, developer The Fullbright Company has announced that both versions will launch on January 12, 2016. We can’t wait to give it a go when it lands on Xbox One on January 12th.

The new version of Gone Home has been developed using the Unity 5 engine, an upgrade from Unity 4 which was used to the original version. This announcement comes as somewhat of a surprise, considering designer Steve Gaynor mentioned earlier this year that the console versions were no longer in development. It was on the cards at one point, Nintendo of America’s Damon Baker preemptively revealing that it was on the way to the console way back at Unite 2014. The Fullbright Company is already working on its next game, Tacoma, which might be described as “Gone Home but in space”. “We’re going the extra mile to make this the very best Gone Home experience you could hope for – and we’re so excited for the [console] audience to discover the game’s mysteries anew as they explore the House on Arbor Hill”.
