Last season’s standout player of the Serie A scored an record 36 goals, surpassing the long-standing feat of Gunnar Nordahl who held the record for 66 years.

“Higuain will sign a five-year deal with the club”.

Juventus have officially signed Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain from Serie A rivals Napoli after triggering the €90 million release clause in his contract.

Those two transfer deals failed to produce results, so we await to see whether the mega-money moves involving Higuain and Pogba will prove to be more profitable on and off the field.

“But it is apparently quite normal for a foreign player these days to just leave for another team where they can make more money”.

Napoli already had their sights set on Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, although Ajax’s Poland worldwide Arkadiusz Milik is understood to be a more realistic replacement for Higuain.

“Now I’m very happy here and I thank Juve for their great effort to get me”.

Higuain also became the most expensive transfer in Juventus history, as their previous top expenditure was the $55 million they paid Serie A rival Parma for goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon in 2001.

And Higuain said after that, his first goal is to win Champions League.

Making a big statement of its ambitions in Europe, Juventus has also signed playmaker Miralem Pjanic from Roma, winger Dani Alves from Barcelona and defender Medhi Benatia from Bayern Munich.
