Goodbye James Bond. Daniel Craig signs Steven Soderbergh film
Set to star Channing Tatum, Daniel Craig, Riley Keough, Adam Driver, and Seth MacFarlane, “Logan Lucky” will depict a heist at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Pre-production filming begins this weekend at the Coca-Cola 600.

Tentatively scheduled for release in fall 2017, Logan Lucky centers on a would-be heist at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina. According to early reports out of Hollywood, the film will be about two brothers who plan a crime during a NASCAR race at the North Carolina superspeedway. Gregory Jacobs, Mark Johnson and Reid Carolin are producing. The actor has been very vocal about not wanting to do another Bond, including his much-publicized slashing wrists quote.
The firmest evidence that Daniel Craig is stepping away from the James Bond franchise has presented itself in the form of the actor’s casting in a new Steven Soderbergh film. It has also been widely reported (and confirmed by Deadline) that Jamie Bell has discussed the Bond role with his Film Stars Don’t Die movie producer Barbara Broccoli (who has long produced the Bond movies). NASCAR says it has thrown its support behind the picture. Most recently, he directed the 2013 medical thriller Side Effects starring Tatum, Jude Law, Rooney Mara and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up) has also been cast in the caper.
