Goodell critical with Kaepernick’s actions during anthem
Thursday afternoon’s statement comes amid quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s ongoing protest in which he declined to stand for the playing of the national anthem during the preseason to bring attention to what he says are racial inequities in this country, in particular when minorities encounter local law enforcement.

York said the Niners will partner with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and the San Francisco Foundation in this effort.
“I think it’s something where there’s a lot of players that really feel the same way”, Kaepernick said. “There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder”. He also said approvingly that Kaepernick has generated more national conversation about “issues that need to be talked about” since his refusal to stand for the anthem became public less than two weeks ago.
It seems as if the protest by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has now officially made its way into the 2016 National Football League regular season.
“I support our players when they want to see change in society, and we don’t live in a flawless society”, he told The Associated Press in NY. “On the other hand, we believe very strongly in patriotism in the NFL”.
In addition to making a mockery of Kaepernick’s actual views, this particular commentary also conveniently disregarded the $1 million that Kaepernick has pledged to donate to community organizations working to combat the problems he has highlighted.
According to the report from USA TODAY, Santa Clara Police Chief Michael J. Sellers said he didn’t anticipate changes in security measures if members of the force made a decision to protest.
‘We understand this may be seen as an extraordinary step, but believe it was the best option to avoid taking focus away from the game on such an important night for our franchise’.
Marshall was teammates with Kaepernick at the University of Nevada for three seasons.
That lack of practice time contributed to Blaine Gabbert winning the starting quarterback job for the 49ers. “I will work with both sides to find a solution”. And if I am fortunate enough to ever be dressed for another game day I imagine I would be doing the same thing I did in my last.

“I haven’t heard of anybody refusing to work because of Kaepernick”, Santa Clara (Calif.) police spokesman Lt. Dan Moreno told USA TODAY Sports in a phone interview on Wednesday.
