Goodfellow and Daley win bronze in men’s 10m synchro diving
As soon as the scores were announced, giving them the bronze, Daley and Goodfellow hugged, then jumped into the pool together.

Yet, British media outlets seem to have forgotten that this was a two-man effort with their attention exclusively focused on poster-boy Tom Daley.
“Oh my God!” Daley shouted after winning the bronze.
Team GB added two more medals to the haul on Monday, taking the total up to four.
I just went with it. It’s everyone around me. Dad, family, friends, coaches, support staff, everyone who gets you to that point.
Goodfellow said it made lodging with Daley worthwhile.
I knew what the Olympics were, obviously, but I went into it thinking, “Ah, it’s another competition”. In order to be synchronised, you need to synchronise with a partner.
The mother of an Olympic bronze medalist has complained that media coverage of her son’s win has been out-of-sync with that of his partner. They finished behind China (gold) and the United States (sliver).
“I wanted him to be focused out there, not worrying about what’s going on”.
“How insensitive! I hope they sort before morning”.
In the preparation for Rio he moved into Daley’s home in London. “Any type of exercise you can imagine I’ve been doing it”. It actually turned out to be the complete opposite.
“Going into these Olympic Games, I feel like I’m at my most consistent, I feel ready physically, psychologically, everything, so I’m really excited for the Games to start because I’m ready to give the Chinese a run for their money”. I feel good physically.
He said: “I think this is great for shooting”.
He said: “We’re over the moon, and I kind of pounced on Dan at the end and didn’t realise we were going backwards until we were in the water”.
British Diving performance director Alexei Evangulov has been critical of Daley in the past, but not now.
“He’s become such a professional athlete in comparison with the last quadrennial”, said Evanguluv.
But it is not all about Daley, with others in medal contention, including Jack Laugher, Chris Mears, Tonia Couch and Lois Toulson.

Another possible medal for GB all-but slipped away on day two of the eventing competition as round one leader William Fox-Pitt suffered a huge time penalty and slipped to 21st ahead of the final show-jumping phase on Tuesday (9 August). There’s plenty more to come, so I’ll see you in Rio.
