Google Allo elbows into the messaging app wars

Google’s new Allo app is set to revolutionise the way you chat on your smartphone. This has access to the vast amount of information which Google collects about you and tries to come up with ways to make your messaging slicker and smarter. So, it’s a bit like WhatsApp in that regard.

Allo also features Smart Reply, which lets you respond to messages without typing a single word.

By holding your finger on the send button on the app, you can choose the font size of your message so that you can “shout”. Allo even recognizes “whether you’re a “haha” or ” kind of person”, Google claims.

Allo is now available for download on Android and iOS and will roll out globally over the next few days. This seems like a fairly straightforward limitation, as many apps allow you to only use it on one device, but Allo seems to take this a whole lot further. Still, it’s interesting enough to check out.

Google Allo can also help you out in everyday situations – simply type in a question during a chat and Google Assistant will send you a direct reply. Express yourself better with stickers, Smart Reply, and HUGE emojis & text.

Get creative with the photos you send by doodling on them or adding text. So, we can assume it as a more advanced version of the auto-reply functionality we have on our phone.

Living up to its title of being a smart messaging app, Google Allo comes with its very own artificial intelligence assistant just like Siri. Allo will also analyze photos to suggest replies such as “beautiful smile” or “the skyline looks great!”

According to The Verge, messages sent using the app’s default messaging mode are stored indefinitely until a user manually deletes them.
