The new messaging platform hopes to win people over from the huge variety of other chat apps – like iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger – by taking advantages of Google’s smart robots.

Allo allows users to send messages, stickers, images, doodles and more to each other, regardless of whether they use an iPhone or an Android device.

“Google Allo can help you make plans, find information, and express yourself more easily in chat”. Earlier in May, Google had stated that Allo will keep only temporary message logs.

According to Google Media release chats in Google Allo are encrypted using industry standard technologies like Transport Layer Security (TLS). You can even tell the assistant about your favorite teams and the next time you ask about the performance of your team; the app will show you news, videos, and photos related to its performance. Google Allo will also introduce users to Google Assistant, in a preview edition.

For example, one can send a quick “yup” in response to a friend asking “Are you on your way?” Smart Reply also works with photos, providing intelligent suggestions related to the content of the photo.

Allo also features Smart Reply, which lets you respond to messages without typing a single word.

Google hasn’t made Allo available to Web, Desktop or Tablet users.

According to Google, the App is not now available on Play store or Apple Store.

Additionally, users can interact with Google Assistant.

When the two apps were announced, the public had initially thought that Google was going to be releasing both apps simultaneously. But it turns out that the company requires chats to be logged to provide more data to its machine learning algorithms, with the aim to improve the functionality of its Assistant and Smart reply features. Google has gone a step ahead and created a safe mode within the app called Incognito. Also, your friends who don’t have Google Allo, you can send them SMS using the Allo app and that too for free.
