Google Allo to Be Launched on 21st September

At its I/O conference in May, Google unveiled a “smart messaging app” called Allo, which only requires your phone number to identify you. It seems as though we may be nearing the finish line, however. Nothing more. You can even opt out of connecting your Google Account with Allo and still enjoy nearly all the features of the app. Yes, I’m talking about the AI-powered Google Allo.

It’ll also support Google Assistant, which will act as a contact that you can chat with and ask questions; it’s essentially a friendy Google search bot. But it’s arguably Google Allo that has more people excited. It will further be equipped with an end-to-end encryption and incognito conversations. It can also help search for information, location, and more.

Blass is usually right about things like this, so hopefully we’ll only have to wait until Wednesday to give Allo a go.

There are also fun features such as sending amusing stickers and whatnot. With giants like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Snapchat already enjoying a billion-strong user base, Allo may find it hard to attain a strong footing in the instant messaging segment even with its flurry of cutting-edge features.

Recently Evan Blass, a known personality on twitter tweeted saying “Hello, Allo (launches this week)”.

Google Duo is now being advertised on its Google.com homepage
