Google Announces the Launch of Asus Chromebit in India
Priced at Rs 7,999 Asus Chromebit is a PC-on-stick running on Chrome operating system and much akin to the Windows version of PC-on-stick, Google hopes to compensate for its lack of interest in Chromebook with this pocket device.

Google on Tuesday announced the Asus ChromeBit for India, which is essentially a ChromeBook inside an USB Stick, similar to Intel’s Compute Stick.
You can also surf the Internet on it, run applications, edit your documents and watch movies.
Earlier this year, Google announced the budget-friendly Asus Chromebit, which can prove to be very useful for schools and businesses.
At today’s Google for India event in New Delhi, Google’s vice president for product management Caesar Sengupta showed off a sexy upcoming feature in the company’s Translate service, which makes messaging in multiple languages a lot easier. It is worth noting that other connectivity options include USB 2.0 port and Wi-Fi 802.AC, reports NDTV Gadgets.
Chromebit can be used to connect peripherals like a keyboard or a mouse.
The device has a Rockchip RK3288 chipset with a quad-core CPU and 2GB of RAM, and comes equipped with 16GB flash storage. The handy device has 16 GB of internal storage.
It runs on Chrome OS which is based on a Linux kernel. Whilst it does work offline in addition, being attached to the web makes the Chrombit into a lightning speedy doorway for gaming, amusement as well as productivity.

Interestingly, Google claims the device to be smaller than a candy bar while it performs most of the functions that a PC or a laptop would do.
