Google has celebrated its birthday with a Doodle yearly since its fourth birthday in 2002.
It will be a treat for netizens today when they will log on to Google as the web link to the Doodle will redirect users to the search page of “when is Google Birthday”. If one were to by domain name registration, then Google is really 18 years old, because Larry Page and Sergey Brin registered Google.com on September 15, 1997. It has started celebrating it on 27 September since 2006 and the year before it had celebrated it on 26 September.
In 2004, its 6th birthday Doodle went online on September 7 and in the year before that, it was September 8.
So far, Google has not stuck with a consistent date for its birthday but September 27 appears to have been the most used date. Logo, features on Google’s homepage on September 27, which the internet giant has retroactively chosen as its birthday.

Doodle Team Leader Ryan Germick did acknowledge this in a blog post a couple of years ago, saying Google doesn’t know for sure when was it born (figuratively speaking).
