Google Glass 2 will be Monocle

The new patent might or might not transform into a real product, but to make it truly enticing, Google will have to offer a little extra than just glass and metal frame that shows your social media feed and works with voice commands.

Glass is expected to be relaunched as a business-focused device and is now going under the name of Project Aura.

You might have thought the Google Glass concept was as good as dead commercially, but oh no, Google might be about to get very spiffing altogether with a new Google Glass monocle concept.

Google’s wearable tech outfit was granted a patent this week for a Glass-like heads-up display that could be affixed to a person’s head with a flexible band. The Information reported earlier this month that Google had as many as three different prototypes in the works. The band can also double as a touch-based input surface.

Wanting to bring something totally new to the public, Google made a decision to abandon the glassy design for their device and go with something on the line of a monocle.

The company may have plans to introduce major changes to the second-generation Glass, it appears. The coolest aspect of this new concept is that the Glass is able to take the shape of your face, just like a memory foam.

It adds: “The device also includes image generating means within the band for generating an image presentable to the user on the display”.
