Last Friday, the company released its filing for an initial public offering, revealing that it made $1.1 billion in revenue past year. “We have hundreds of millions of users who have Gmail addresses and are also G Suite users”. From direct messages to larger group conversations, Chat provides a centralized, secure integrated experience that makes team collaboration easy and efficient. Like its competitors, Chat is available on iOS, Android and the web. Additionally, users can add third-party integrations. However, to this day, it is not available to companies registered Google’s Early Adopter Program. The service will allow to track progress and follow up tasks.

Just like other team messaging apps, Hangouts Chat comes with “channels” functionality that allows intra-company communication with an 8,000-member support for each channel.
The Mountain View advertising house has formally released Hangouts Chat, the chat-and-collaboration service it teased past year. The company will develop additional native G Suite integrations with Gmail and Hangouts Chat (that was made generally available to G Suite users this week), which is said to help teams keep project content connected with the conversations that involve it.
Likewise, the company guarantees that Hangouts Chats will utilize the business’ AI to make operations more efficient and reliable.
Google announced the service last March, but told Reuters it would be available to all customers for the first time on Wednesday. Similarly, users can check and join video meetings on Hangouts Meet.

Hangouts Chat will be slowly rolling out to all users over the next seven days, the release said. They can search, archive and export chat-specific data to encrypted vaults. The Google Drive bot will notify users when a file is shared with them or when a team member comments on one of the shared files. It is confusing to say the least but Google seems to be pitching Hangouts Chat as value addition to G Suite users. Google Calendar and Google Drive can be accessed directly from Hangouts Chat as well. What is important to note is Google already has an ecosystem of partners to integrate with Chat.
