The package also has a new feature like voice typing. “We’ll even chip in on a few of the deployment costs and set you up for success with one of our Google for Work Partners”, the blog post read. Further to that, Google will contribute to the deployment costs of Google Apps for work, up to $25 per user.

Well, we’re at a point now where Google is so confident in its place in this battle, that it’s chose to offer one heck of a deal to any company that’s thinking about transitioning over to Google Docs (and likewise, Google Apps). The figure is based on a basic Microsoft Enterprise Agreement. The agreement includes three years lockout and during the contract period Microsoft gives discounts on enterprise apps to business company. However, there will be no bill for Google Apps for Work until the prior EA runs out. It did say, though, that more than 600 companies have at least 10,000 employees using Google Apps for Work software. Even with that restriction, Google will be foregoing $US180,000 to $US360,000 ($A248,207 to $A496,415) in annual revenue if a company with 3,000 people signs up for the offer.

Google will also cover “some” of the costs of deploying its’ as-a-service Apps.

Bitglass’ report made it very clear that Microsoft is beating Google when it comes to enterprise-centric cloud applications.

One of the biggest hurdles for any company looking to win new corporate clients is the long-term buy-in contracts that they will have already entered into with rivals. The new strategy will allow customers of other enterprise productivity solution to use the enterprise edition of Apps for free for the duration of their existing contract.
