Google Introduces Block, Unsubscribe Feature To Gmail
This has led to categorization of emails in a bid to sort them relevantly and now that the search giant has introduced a bunch of new features I the shape of block and unsubscribed options, it won’t be long before Gmail users end up with inbox zero. With the new option, users can block an email ID to keep from receiving the blocked user’s messages, reported Android Police.

In addition, Google is making the “Unsubscribe” option, which already existed on the web, available on Android phones.
Consign obnoxious message senders to the spam folder with Gmail’s blocking control.
“Blocking a sender will result in having all future messages from a specific email address be moved directly to spam”. It does not hurt the reputation of that sender. Unblocking a user is done by heading to “Settings Filters and Blocklist Unblock” and then save changes. “Report spam”, however, provides feedback to Gmail on the nature of the email and helps it improve its classification overall.
Users will have to wait until next week for the block feature for Gmail on Android, but India and other regions have already received the update for the Gmail app.
Aside from the block option, an unsubscribe setting has been added for Gmail for Android.
The unsubscribe feature can be accessed by tapping the three-dot icon on the top-right corner of the screen. Both the features might not seem very significant but we think the company just wants to simplify things more for their users. Google’s email services has more than 900 million users globally.
It’s unclear when Google will make this available for iPhone users – and do it without forcing e-mail users to download the Gmail app to get the benefits.
Beyond its duplicative Unsubscribe button, Gmelius allows you to remove interface elements such as Gmail ads, as a way to reclaim space.

No news about these features to be added on ioS versions is out yet but we expect the company will not leave that platform out and will soon announce something.
