Google is busting suspected spam callers with a new spam detection feature
The feature is now supported on Nexus and Android One devices but Google may plan on rolling the feature out to additional devices running the Android operating system in the future.

We’d expect that Google has a pretty solid database of spam calls as is, both from people searching for numbers that turned out to be spam but also because spam filtering has been a part of Google Voice for years. As you can see in the image above, when a number thought to belong to a spam caller flashes on your phone, it will flash in red as a warning.
If you’ve got a Nexus or Android One phone, keep an eye out for this Google Phone update in the coming days. After the call has been rejected or answered, users will be able to block that phone number or report it as not spam if it was marked by mistake.
Google says that it’s now updating the Google Phone app on Nexus and Android One devices. Now, the Google Phone is getting some nice spam call handling features as well. Caller ID also shows information about numbers of businesses only with a valid Google My Business listing, as well as directories in the work and school accounts.
One benefit of owning a Nexus device that’s often highlighted is that you get updates directly from Google, typically giving you new features before most other Android users.
