Google’s Chromecast is a great, affordable way to stream content from mobile devices to a TV, but it’s not without issues. That said, it’s still not a flawless solution for all situations although a new accessory certainly helps matters.

While 5 Ghz networks are both less frequently used and have many more channels available, so far Chromecasts can’t connect to them. No problem. Now you can use an Ethernet cable. The product is exactly what it sounds like, offering a way to connect a wired Ethernet cable to your Chromecast and get it online without Wi-Fi. Google just started selling a cool little accessory for Chromecast owners with Wi-Fi woes, though: a hardwired ethernet adapter for the Chromecast. You simply plug the Ethernet cable into the wall plug, hook the USB end into your Chromecast, and you’re good to go. The other benefit here is that your Chromecast won’t be sharing wireless airwaves with other devices on the network. Assuming it shows up again with stock, Google wants $15 for it. That’s not a awful price for a power/ethernet adapter, but it seems a bit insane knowing that the actual Chromecast unit runs just $35.
