Google Maps can now earn you 1TB free Google Drive storage
A good portion of Google Maps is made up of data submitted by users, along with information that has been corrected and edited over time. Online search giant Google is updating its Local Guides programme for Google Maps that can get you 1TB storage on Google Drive for 2 years for free.

To date, Local Guides reviewer benefits have included early access to products, invites to special events, and badges and icons on the reviewer’s profile, but no incentives with a cash value. The level 4 is the stage at which you will be able to rake the jackpot in the form of 1TB drive storage for free, mind you this storage actually costs $9.99 per month.
The five levels are meant to reflect a guide’s level of activity through contributions and reviews. Google wants to fill in this void and real life rewards for the guides will definitely act as a carrot at the end of the stick and hopefully will help Google strengthen their localized database.
Level 2 users, with up to 50 points, get to try out new Google products and services before anyone else.

Getting more points leads to better bonuses – Level 1 users, with zero to four points, get access to exclusive contests. The update will be available on both Android and iOS platforms and will require users to signup, according to Google. As you level up, however, the rewards become more substantial. Google shut down an early trial Tablescape but reintroduced it as a Maps feature for Local Guides. Then you’d need to update your Google Maps to its latest version where you’ll also be able to see your contributions and points you’ve earned and what level you’re in now.
