Google Maps Gets Updated with Catching Pokemon Option
Students play Pokemon Go game on smartphones on July 23, 2016 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The good news for all you Pokemon fans out there is that it looks like Google has made a decision to add a new Timeline activity option in the form of “Catching Pokemon”, meaning that you can now log your Pokemon catching activities while you’re out and about.

As BGR notes, this doesn’t actually help you catch Pokemon, because Niantic is still sticking to its guns in that regard and saying that no other app shall assist you with catching ’em all. A new feature, “Catching Pokemon” has recently been added. The new addition was recently reported by Reddit user GoldLeader272. You could even share the information with your friends and the Pokemon GO community, to tell them that at this particular time you saw this particular Pokemon. Android users would go to the “Your Timeline” tab, and then tap the travel icon to edit and “Catching Pokemon”. Niantic is working on some hot new features for Pokemon Go, but also some neat new tricks for players. For Niantic, said roots were with Google, where the company budded in its early stages as an internal startup. Timeline allows users to see an overview of where they’ve been, and if they happened to use Maps’ navigation or driving mode to get there, it will essentially give them a step-by-step map of where they’ve been and how they were travelling. Obviously there is a lot good will left between the two despite their parting of ways.
