Google Maps users can now add a stop along their current route
According to Google Blog (h/t TechCrunch), road trippers can now pin a pit stop in the middle of their travels, which should make things a lot more enjoyable for corporate travelers on a business excursion or families out on a weekend getaway.

The feature, which allows users to add stops to their route when navigating to a destination, is coming to the iPhone after it debuted on Android in October. Previously, if you wanted to get direction to a location outside of the route you’ve charted on Google Maps you would have to leave the navigation mode. To access the feature you have to first be in navigation mode.
As with most updates, they also added bug fixes to the changelog.
Google has just announced that a long-awaited feature is rolling out to its popular Maps app.
The feature itself is something users of the Google-owned navigation app Waze have had for some time, but was not yet available in Google Maps.

With this update, users can search for gas stations, restaurants and other destinations by tapping the magnifying glass at the top right corner of the screen in the app’s navigation mode. Since this feature is definitely made for those on-the-go, you can also tap on the microphone and search by dictation. If the drop-down options aren’t what you need, you can tap the search icon or use voice commands to search by specific name or category to find what you’re looking for.
