Google now alerts you when you’re mentioned online
Google’s new Stay In The Loop feature will send you a notification if your name is mentioned on the web. The feature is called ‘Stay in the Loop,’ through which the search engine giant will notify users on their registered Gmail IDs as to where their names mentioned.

This features works as long as you are logged in to Google and you have allowed Google to save your web and app activity, technology website Venturebeat.com reported on Sunday.
First up, users would need to make sure they were logged in to their Google account and that Google had been granted permission to track web and App Activity. But the thing is even though they’re not the hot new thing, Google Alerts work well. This can be activated through the Activity Controls menu. Tapping on the widget moves users to a Google Alert form that already consist of username in quotation marks. To set up a Google Alert, your name has to be entered in the widget so that it can track new references to your name. Once they have managed the Settings, just tap on Create alert, and the user would be all set to get the alert. This feature could be handy for those who have a strong online presence and want to know if and when they are being mentioned anywhere online. Just click on it and you will be redirected to an alert page where you customize the search for which you want to get the alert. A user can adjust settings like email frequency, sources types, languages, regions among other information.

According to several reports, the feature is now made live in India too.
