Google now lets you play ‘Solitaire’ in search results

You can now play Solitaire and Tic-Tac-Toe minigames directly in Google’s app and web search results. Moreover, Google already lets you play some games within Search, including Pac-Man.

To access the games, all you have to do is search. There are also controls for volume, undo, and starting a new game.

For example, type in “solitaire” into the search box, and the game will pop up as a card in the search results.

Of course, there is no shortage of websites and apps with these games, but having them in Google does save a bit of searching (and won’t take up precious storage space on your phone if you’re anxious about running out). Google’s version of tic-tac-toe allows you to either square off against a computer with multiple difficulty levels, or invite a friend to play against you. You can also play against another person and choose whether you’re “X’s” or “O’s”. But these would only live briefly, and were things people happened on by chance, not because they launched Google with the intention of playing a game.

Solitaire – a game of patience – and the simpler tic-tac-toe were specifically chosen as they are two of the oldest and most popular games of all ages.

Google is known for being creative, but this move has got to be the best by Google in a long time.
