Google Pixel vs Apple iPhone 7: the weigh

The headset, naturally, has been created to be used with mobile phones (just like Cardboard) but at this point Google only lists one mobile device that is compatible – its very own Pixel phone. Google has heavily advertised and priced its latest flagship smartphones to better compete with smartphone leaders like Apple and Samsung.

The internet service conglomerate announced the latest product is called Pixel.

Carphone Warehouse will sell the Pixel and Pixel XL SIM free with a starting price of £599 for the 32GB version (£699 for 128GB). In addition to that, the video also does a good job of subtly stating that Pixel is a companion, an assistant, something that will help you in your everyday endeavors without changing them.

Pixel also supports Google’s Project Fi which makes you independent of carrier networks.

The new headset is powered by placing the Pixel smartphone into it, though Google did also confirm that future Android phones would also come with Daydream support. And that’s supplemented by Google’s hard work in the field of artificial intelligence.

The search engine giant recently confirmed that the new launcher is exclusive to Pixel device. Google claims the Pixel phones have the best camera in the market with a 12.3Megapixel camera on the rear and an8 Megapixel front-facing camera.

Google Pixel has an AMOLED screen with a 5 inch diagonal and a full HD resolution. This typically results in faster performance thanks to the lack of pre-installed, redundant applications that usually just replace Google’s own applications. Both the smartphones also comes with a fingerprint scanner at back.

Google on Tuesday also announced that its Assistant will be opened to third-party developers, much like Amazon’s Alexa Skills Kit platform.

Google is positioning the device as the ultimate virtual home assistant, with the ability to answer spoken queries, play music from YouTube, Spotify, Pandora, and iHeartRadio, use voice controls for connected home devices from the Google-owned Nest, Samsung and Phillips, and even control Netflix. The Daydream VR will be released in November and will retail for £62.

The listings for the two Pixel smartphones are already available on Best Buy’s website, but it seems that the retailer has yet to make pre-orders live.
