Google plans Android One relaunch

Taking this aspect into consideration, it appears that Google is thinking of lowering the price of its Android One smartphones to $50 / €45 or lower, in order to make them more attractive to customers in the country. He explained that one reason for this is the fact that the Indian market experienced supply chain issues leading to shortages of the phones. The new push from the U.S. firm into India’s Internet market will include delivering $50 devices as a part of its “massive” investment plans. Still, it’s unlikely that we’ll see Android One expand to the UK or the States, given how robust and successful those smartphone markets already are. The report noted that the phones would face tough competition from Xiaomi and even other devices from the very OEMs manufacturing Android Ones. Google Inc’s is aiming to overtake his rivals by providing low cost smartphones with its Android One project.

Google’s online approach to selling Android One failed in a territory where net access is poor and marketing has to be done by pounding the dusty streets. After the early Android One negative criticism, Google could not accept one more disappointment.

Recently, domestic handset maker Lava launched its new handset under Google’s Android One program. But for the users who are entering the smartphone market for the first time and wants to spend as little money as possible, the search giant and its local manufacturing partners found themselves frequently beaten on price. To take notes on an Android handset the fastest way possible, you have to rely on Google Now, and you need to enable the OK Google command to work on any screen.

The main intention of Google is to cut the costs and time necessary for building low-cost smartphones.

Google is by no means the only company that has its sights set on India.

Though no details have been released about the new version, being announced “in the next few weeks”, Mr Anandan said it will be priced between $31 and $47.
