Google releases Maps iOS update to share location on Facebook
In Google Maps app version 9.11, you can now remove elements by simply tapping on the screen. It brings along UI improvements, redesigned transit directions feature and maps sharing options among other regular bug fixes. It also gives you the ability to edit any of your geotagged photos from Google Photos, if they’re in the “your places” section of Maps. The users have to tap on a photo to get a grid view of all of the images other Google users have posted to Maps. If you’re just scrolling and zooming around the map, removing the interface elements will let you see a lot more. Unfortunately, you can’t do anything when you are in a turn-by-turn navigation mode.

The latest update to Google Maps for iOS most notably revamps the app’s display of public transport directions so that more route options and real-time arrival information are made available. This allows you to share a place directly from the app through Gmail, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber, Line, Tumblr, and more.

The new feature, part of Google Maps version 4.8.0, will now make it much easier to send a pin to someone who is on their desktop computer, or who is just too lazy to switch between apps (we all know that person).
