Google reportedly working on Amazon Echo like device code named “Chirp”

As soon as we get some more details on this new Chirp device from Google, including some specifications and its actual name when it launches, we will let you guys know. The device is expected to look like last year’s OnHub router collaboration between Google and TP-LINK.
The Information previously reported that Google was plotting a competing version of Echo, a portable speaker with voice assistant tech.
Google declined to comment. The technology that will be powering the hardware, specifically intelligent personal assistance and voice search, will be present at the show though.
Amazon’s Echo does have a head start though in terms of tie-in services, but given Google’s might it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine that they could rapidly catch up in terms of diversity of supported services either at launch, or shortly there after.

If you are looking for a Amazon Echo alternative, then the offering from Google might be more suiting to your needs. The dedicated voice control device from Amazon has been pretty popular, with over three million units sold. Things that users could do with an OK Google-powered Chirp could include setting alarms, launching web searches, initiating apps and many more.
