However, Android Police has also shared a screenshot of Google Maps informing users about the significant usage of little amount of data even when it’s on “WiFi Only” mode. Download an area of the world and seamlessly use Maps features like turn-by-turn navigation and access useful location information without a network connection using Google Maps Offline. This feature used to be called Offline areas on the app. If you have Wi-Fi Only enabled, you will see a blue bar across the top of the screen indicating that the feature is “on”.

In order to receive the Wi-Fi only mode, you must install at least Maps v9.32.

Once enabled, this feature prevents the app from hogging your cellular data when active – which can be very useful if you are on a limited tariff or need to conserve your bandwidth for other tasks.

According to a new Android Police report, the “mass transit delay notification” is the first out of the two updates, which will help daily passengers travelling via buses or trains, by notifying them regarding any service disruption on the route they take on a regular basis. This way, if you are traveling by bus or train, you can see if there are delays on certain routes. “The same will inform users of disruption alerts in selected service via notifications, provided the same is available in your region”.

Also, it seems that, users should have Maps v9.32.1 installed on their device to have better chances of getting these new features. and the new version APK file is now available on APK Mirror. We also don’t know whether these features are coming to the iOS app, although history suggests that they eventually will.
