Google’s new ‘Live Cases’ lets Nexus owners create custom accessories
You can also apply various filters to the photo to customize it to your liking before finalizing the case, and you can also download a live wallpaper version of your finalized case design to compliment your new purchase.

Once you snap on your shiny new case, which has an NFC tag built in to it, your wallpaper will turn to a slideshow of a number of photos that you chose from Google Photos. The cases can then be matched up with “companion live wallpapers” to fully enhance the experience.
The accessories can be ordered with custom designs or satellite images from Google Maps. It will let you customise your phone case with a photo or map, provided you own a Nexus 5X, 6 or 6P.
Remember Google Workshop, the Nexus case customization program that leaked way back in 2014? You’ll start with a picture, and then you can add some artistic color changes, stripes, and shapes to it, if that’s your thing.
Fashion your phone with a stylized map of your favorite location from around the world – whether it’s your dream vacation destination or hometown. After you upload your photo or choose the location you would like your case based on, there are several different styles and colors to pick from to truly make the case your own. If you chose to go with the Places Live Case rather than the Photos Live Case, the shortcut button on the back will take you straight to Maps and show you what’s nearby, according to Google’s blog post.
The introduction of My Live Case marks a growing trend in the smartphone markets.

Cases are made of polycarbonate and they’re available with matte or glossy finishes.
