Reports from Korea claim Google recently announced LG about its plans to invest 1 trillion won ($880 million) in its OLED display production line.

LG Display said its plastic screen technology is “the world’s first flexible OLED display panel for smartphones”. LG is yet to accept the proposal, leaving the future of the Pixel’s display tech uncertain. It is reported that the X16 LTE modem chip’s downloading powers might be fully utilized for the first time in the upcoming Google devices. The curved displays on powerful smartphones might prove to be the trend this year in terms of phone design. Fans should note that looking at the current Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL specs and features rumors, they are about to be left awestruck.

Rumors about Google’s Pixel smartphone are swirling. Google is also tipped to be working on a version of the next Pixel that will have pared down performance and features aimed at emerging markets.
According to Jeff Pu, who covers Google Pixel assembler HTC at Taipei-based Yuanta Investment Consulting, Pixel shipments totaled 1.3 million past year, including both 5-inch and 5.5-inch models. However, there is also a certification for the Chinese market, so most likely it will not remain this exclusive. The demand for smaller-screen OLED is jumped due to growing need for flexibility in phone display and applications for smart devices. Premium hardware alongside Google’s latest operating system updates seems to be the recipe for success since both Pixel and Pixel XL are selling really well.

We know it’s coming then, and if this new report is accurate, it’ll arrive along with an LG-made OLED screen to rival that of Samsung’s Galaxy S8, and reportedly, the iPhone 8. Everybody is paying attention that the upcoming iPhone 8 will use bent screens as well. There’s also rumblings that Google will launch a cheaper variant with slimmed down specs in order to tempt the more budget-conscious users.
