Google’s Waze To Help You Find Good Parking Spot

The partnership was announced this morning. INRIX parking data adds to the Waze database, comprised of parking lots sourced by the Waze community and other company partners.
Waze recently introduced a “where to park” feature, which suggests parking lots closest to a destination and allows users to navigate there directly.
A statement from a Waze official indicated the company’s planning to roll out more features related to parking.
On average, North American and European drivers waste 55 hours each year looking for parking, according to a Frost and Sullivan report released in April last year. “Waze has begun to rollout the first of its parking suite features to solve this issue for drivers”. And according to the latest Frost and Sullivan data, the average driver is now wasting 55 hours a year looking for a parking space and that equates to a staggering $600 million in lost time and burned fuel in the USA and Europe.
