Google’s Who’s Down app helps users find people to hang out with
It features a toggle button, which when switched on, tells your friends if you are available to meet up. You can even chat with friends willing to meetup via a conversation window within the app. The chat conversations disappear after 24 hours of activity last done. For instance, of having to go to one of the popular food apps when hungry, navigate through the menu and then order, Quixey’s product directly takes the person to the appropriate page of the app soon after a search query. The newly launched app has also received a better welcome than ‘Move to iOS, ‘ which has been available on Play Store since September and was received with 1 star ratings by most Android fans.

The company notes that in its experience, Android emulators are slower than those for iOS and that Android’s use of XML for app layouts isn’t as efficient as the WYSIWYG approach that iOS uses.

As we reported at the time, the Google crowd absolutely killed it with one-star reviews, with one reviewer going so far as to say he’d “rather be shot in the face” than use the app. It is now available on invite only basis, hence we could not test the app to know about its features and functionality in details. You just tap to keep the Goat jumping over obstacles, and while it’s not the most revolutionary concept out there, it’s good fun and is a sign of things to come at the very least.
