Google showcases how much Chrome has improved in a year
With version 53 of the Chrome browser, Google has improved battery longevity across the board, so Windows notebooks will benefit from its better power efficiency – but because the MacBook has been such a problem area in the past, the company highlighted the boosts made for Apple laptops.

And now it is Google’s time to claim that battery life in Chrome 53 has improved significantly over previous versions of the browser.
To boil things down, every Chrome user here and there now has a speedier and battery-efficient browser at hand, and on top of that, they also have yet another way to make seamless payments using it.
One of the biggest complaints from Chrome users in the past has been Chrome battery drain. Rather subtly, Google simply says Chrome 53 gives two hours 12 minutes more Vimeo HD on a single charge than Chrome 46. However, Google is aware of this short falling and has been working on improving the energy efficiency of its browser for at least the a year ago.
Another Chrome browser boast on the official blog concerns browsing speed. These improvements help you get more done, faster, and we thought you’d like an update. “That’s good news if you’re working against a deadline or trying to place a last-minute order”, the post read. For example, Chrome for Windows lets you watch more video on sites like Vimeo, Facebook and YouTube than it did a year ago.
Microsoft’s other test showed Chrome and Edge squaring off in a video-streaming battle on Surface Books.
Still, that’s a fact worth celebrating, and, in any case, whether someone ends up using Chrome or Edge as their main browser, their day-to-day experience will differ from staged tests.

But even Edge fell well short of the 10-plus hours Chrome managed in Google’s test.
