Ninety per cent of smartphone users say that they are not absolutely sure of the specific brand they want to buy when they begin shopping, and almost half of United States readers consult blogs to find new trends and ideas.
To help consumers discover products instantly, Google is building on ad experiences, including Showcase Shopping ads and Shopping ads on image search. Not only fashion brands, but fashion bloggers, publishers and retailers can also post their ads on Google Shopping, giving you more options in the process.
Last week, the search engine debuted “Shop the “Look”, a new apparel and home décor experience for its retail advertisers, allowing them to reach more consumers while helping brands increase visitor traffic and boost digital sales”.
So how does it work? For instance, if a shopper searches for “cocktail attire” (and who doesn’t need to refresh their wardrobe for this week’s cocktail party circuit), Google will display engaging photos rather than serving up straight product photos.

In a nutshell, the new shopping experience on Google will show the image of a popular fashion blogger once a search containing certain a keyword has been entered. “As with standard Shopping ads, retailers will be charged on a cost-per-click basis, and all impressions and clicks will be reported within existing Shopping campaigns”. Let us know what you thought of it in the comments. All bids must, however, be optimized to show on mobile.
