Keep in mind current Android Wear manufacturers include Moto, LG, Polar, Casio, Tag, Fossil, Michael Kors, Huawei, Asus, and others. Long time leaker Evan Blass (evleaks) first revealed Google’s plan to launch new smartwatches in October this year. The watches will carry the manufacturer’s branding, but will run on the Android platform. He likened the collaborative effort between Google and the unnamed manufacturer to the teams responsible for Google’s Nexus smartphone.

In any case, this commitment by Google is a sign that it still believes that there is a demand for smart devices in the market that can be worn around the wrist.

Does every smartwatch will get update?

In Android Wear 2.0, an app can work independently of a phone and users can complete more tasks on a watch, without access to an Android or iOS phone, according to software developers.

A preview of Android wear 2.0 is expected to be demonstrated by Google in January which will give a preview of Android Pay and Google Assistant too.

While many claim that smartwatches are not very popular devices, yet companies are betting on them and there are reasons. It will also work with iOS devices, but there will be differences. They wish to do this with a public final launch of the software by the name of Android Wear 2.0.

But now Android Wear 2.0 was delayed to early next year. However, it looks like within the first few months of 2017 consumers will have two top of the line Android watches to choose from. The company’s new Android Wear platform may be able to take care numerous issues users had been complaining about – including Android Pay, enhanced iOS compatibility, standalone applications and Google’s voice assistant. In the interview, Jeff Chang Wear product manager confirmed that Google will be working with OEMs to promote product launches and raise awareness about the category. It’s certainly worked for Google’s Android-based smartphones.
