YouTube app has been offering the downloading and saving option of videos offline for quite some time already, but its owner, Google has announced committed app named YouTube Go in September a year ago keeping in mind those who have low internet access.
The app provides users with a variety of options to save data while viewing and downloading the videos.
Of course, when it comes to user data privacy, at times many users themselves don’t bother with reading the privacy policy terms. Now, Google has taken the first step toward streamlining its music streaming experience.
The Next Web reports that a significant number of developers are receiving a warning about how their app lacks a valid privacy policy. Just say, “Ok Google, play music for cooking” and we’ll serve up the flawless tunes, like our R&B Kitchen Dance Party playlist.
I think it’s fantastic, this will clear the Google Play store of so many junk and zombie apps that our games will find increased visibility on the store as the search terms will become much less cluttered. Initially, YouTube Music was seen as a way to sell more songs and memberships on Google Play Music, but perhaps these apps aren’t as differentiated and complementary as Google had envisioned. You can even say “Ok Google, thumbs up this song” or “Ok Google, play something else” to help us learn more about your music preferences and serve you better recommendations.
While the app does miss out some features including different tabs for Trending, Subscriptions and Recommended, it can be hit amongst the people it is targeted to.
While this is not one of the biggest updates to come to the YouTube app, it gives a greater scope for personalization of the way this app works.
