Google tries its hand at social again with Spaces app
The company is betting on its powerful search capabilities, which allow Spaces users to pull up articles, videos, comments, and even images. Google’s Spaces offers the users a pretty good deal. Today, Google has announced another big incoming, Spaces, a group sharing app that lets you create a completely individual space for each topic. Bringing Google Cardboard support for iPhone users will further broaden its user base, and more viewers will now be able to consume 360-degree video on YouTube through virtual reality headsets for a more immersive experience.

Google introduced its newest application, Spaces, which allows users to share content with others in small groups. Invitations can be done in either via email, messaging, Facebook and any social networking sites. Share us your thoughts. They have created a space for each session so that developers can connect with each other and Googlers around topics at I/O. In fact, folks at Google want you to install Spaces on Android or iOS before joining them for this year’s I/O for some sort of surprise.
Several people on the thread questioned why Google didn’t just build Spaces’ functionality into its existing chat app, Hangouts.
A space can contain things like links to relevant web stories, photos and videos, where it is easy to track conversations and discussions around a particular topic.
By clicking on the hamburger menu, the users can now have direct access to links of Android, Wear, TV and Auto categories.
So keen is Google for a huge take up of Spaces, that the service is launching in mobile and desktop web versions, as well as iOS and Android apps.
