Google claim that the Nexus 6P is their most premium phone yet, and that’s true for a number of reasons. Still, with a 128GB storage option, most people should be content. Under the hood the Pixel C is powered by an NVIDIA X1 quad-core processor, a Maxwell GPU, and 3GB LPDDR4 RAM. The Nexus 6P starts at $499 for the 32 GB model. This particular model is not as powerful as the Huawei Nexus 6P, yet it comes with enough punch to handle most tasks. Pre-order for both the handsets begins today on the company’s official website. Google definitely needed to do something following its Motorola Nexus 6 flop past year. Google also introduced the Nexus Protect service, which covers mechanical breakdowns and accidental damage for 2 years.
On the other hand, the bigger Nexus 6P comes from Huawei.
A Micro USB-Type C connector is used to charge and sync the new smartphone. Google says, that it will start rolling Android 6.0 officially, starting next week.
Both feature the Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor which can unlock the phone without the need of a passcode and quickly authorize Android Pay purchases.
It has a 12 megapixel rear camera and a 8MP front-facing camera, while the 5X has cameras with 12.3MP and 5MP for rear and front, respectively.
The Nexus 6P will be available in three colors with somewhat fancy names.
Both phones had 64-bit processors, fingerprint readers and increased battery time, with the 6P charging fully in half the time of an iPhone 6 Plus, Burke said. Pricing for the Nexus 5X will be starting at $379. It comes with Android Sensor Hub, which automatically activates the ambient display when you pick the phone up, among other features.
The phones are available for preorder today on the Google Store and ship in late October.
