Google wants to be your hub for the Rio Olympics
Tennis stars Heather Watson and Jo Konta were yet to sample the delights of Brazil but posted a grinning selfie together on the flight over the Atlantic captioned: “Off to Rio!”. Google is not only including all the flawless peripherals with the app this time but also including Google Street View which will now show highlights and milestones crosswise over Rio also. It will provide photos of the event as well as the results and the medals. All you need to do is fire up the search engine on your laptop or mobile device, and type the name of the event or the athlete, or simply “rio 2016”.

Search for “Usain Bolt Rio 2016”, then this will show you the information about the famous athlete and Jamaican speedster.
The Olympics will last for a little over two weeks and the closing ceremony will happen on August 21.

A group of YouTube content creators – including popular vloggers Liza Koshy, Brodie Smith and Ben Brown – will also offer on-the-ground reports of the celebrations in Rio. All the event highlights will be presented in over 60 countries through the various official broadcast channels. During the Sochi Olympic Games, NBC Olympics had more than 1 million concurrent live viewers watching a collective average of 600,000 hours of coverage per day. It is not going to host any content from the Olympic events and games. But Google is also sending 15 top creators from YouTube so you can feel like you’re nearly there with them when they do their mobile live streaming.
