GOP Candidates: Let Fiorina Into the Next Debate

An aggrieved Donald Trump was rejoining his Republican presidential rivals on the debate stage and hoping for a winning formula in New Hampshire, while the challenge for surging Marco Rubio was fending off attacks from other candidates. Gilmore sent a letter to ABC News Thursday calling himself more qualified than Fiorina to debate, and insisted that “especially” if the network modifies “requirements” for Fiorina, it should modify them for all candidates. ABC News has said Fiorina did not make the cut for polling criteria, which included performance in the Iowa caucuses and averages of recent New Hampshire polls. “So I don’t know how they can tell the voters of New Hampshire they are ready to debate Hillary Clinton”, she told Boston Herald Radio, according to The Boston Herald. Networks are making up these debate rules as they go along… arbitrarily to decide which candidates make for the best TV’.

Fiorina got more votes than both Governors John Kasich and Chris Christie in Iowa.

“Republicans must insist that ABC include Carly Fiorina participate in Saturday night debate”, Welch said.

“What this debate debacle shows it that votes and delegates actually don’t matter that much anymore”, she said. “Don’t exclude only woman”, former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said on Twitter on Thursday. Fiorina, however, has been running eighth in national polling and seventh in New Hampshire polling or just under the threshold.

The GOP candidates are next set to debate Saturday in New Hampshire. I don’t know how they can stand up and explain why the only woman in the race – who placed above some of the people who are on the stage and has a delegate – is not there.

“It’s inexcusable. I think it reflects poorly on the party and the sponsor”, said McCarthy, who is backing
Fiorina in the nomination contest. Rick Santorum and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

So, I think that – it’s an odd decision to leave her off the stage.

Ted Cruz clinched a pretty clear victory in Iowa and will be looking to continue his winning streak in New Hampshire. The Fiorina campaign hasn’t yet released its reaction.
