GOP debate features faceoff between Donald Trump, Megyn Kelly

Former president Bill Clinton campaigned for his wife Hillary Clinton in Baton Rouge Thursday evening, just days before voters will go to the polls for Louisiana’s presidental preference primary. Trump should have a few things to say about it. He already started slugging on Thursday morning, saying that Romney “begged” him for his endorsement four years ago, and called him a “failed candidate”.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson said on Wednesday he saw no path forward in his bid for the nomination and would not be at the debate in Detroit.

Last week’s debate on Time Warner Inc’s (TWX.N) CNN turned into a raucous match where rivals Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio ganged up on Trump, who fired back.

The debate reunited front-runner Donald Trump and moderator Megyn Kelly on the stage for the first time since August.

Thanks to Rubio’s win Tuesday, Cruz can no longer say he’s the only Republican who has shown he can beat Trump.

Who is moderating: Moderators are Bret Baier, Chris Wallace and Megyn Kelly, with whom Trump has a running feud that caused him to skip a debate in Des Moines, IA, before the first-in-the-nation Iowa Caucuses.

Of a possible clash with Trump, she said, ‘I have my questions. On Thursday, Kelly played tapes to illustrate three instances where Trump said one thing and later contradicted himself. “He failed miserably and it was an embarrassment to everybody”, Trump said. “If in fact you went to Manhattan and you said, ‘I’m lying to the American people, ‘ the American people have a right to know”.

“Donald Trump has basically mocked everybody with personal attacks”, Rubio said.

Republican presidential candidates, businessman Donald Trump and Sen. “Those that were wanting to see what I would ask him in Iowa, tune in Thursday”. But even Trump can’t ignore Trump. Look for some confidence from Cruz, because on Super Tuesday alone he came close to Trump. Trump explained only his inconsistency on Afghanistan, then attempted to move on, but Kelly insisted that “there are several examples” and asked him to address the other two issues.

Rubio, seemingly amused by the new nickname he’s earned, accused Trump of being incapable of having a substantive policy debate.

“I don’t need to be overly tough to prove that I am some sort of tough gal and I don’t want to go easy on him to disprove the people who think I have it in for him”, she said. During a commercial break, she found what she was looking for on Trump’s website.
