Afterward, Frank Luntz hosted a panel of Fox News viewers who gave Trump disapproving grades for his performance.

Though Donald Trump defended comments he allegedly made about women during Thursday’s Republican presidential candidate debate, he he slammed moderator Megyn Kelly on Twitter following the exchange and told Good Morning America Friday that he does not remember having said some of the comments.

When Fox’s Megyn Kelly asked why Trump why he refers to women as “fat pigs” and “slobs” and such, his glib reply: “Only Rosie O’Donnell”. Ever the showman, Trump tried to duck responsibility at first with a snarky one-liner saying he was only talking about ‪Rosie O’Donnell‬ – as if that would make it acceptable.

“We have too much to do to build this country up so that everybody feels like they’re part of it”, he said. “Blame Erick Erickson, your weak and pathetic leader”.

But Perry campaigned as if he was one of the party’s top-tier candidates, declaring that his 14 years as governor in Texas prove he’s worthy of a promotion. An independent run by Trump would be a gift to yet another Clinton.
