GOP lawmaker: FBI gave immunity to top Clinton aide

The Trump campaign has responded forcefully to the revelation that longtime Clinton aide Cheryl Mills, as well as several others, received an FBI immunity deal during the investigation into former Secretary of State’s private email server.

“This is beyond explanation”, Rep. Jason Chaffetz said in a statement.

As you can tell, Abedin admitted that not everyone knew Hillary’s email address even though Hillary has insisted over and over that everyone had it. Hillary’s aides often filtered Hillary’s address, only passing on what they believed was relevant to the then secretary of state. “They were handing out immunity deals like candy”.

In a statement, Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said, “These materials further demonstrate why the Justice Department believed there was no basis to move forward with this case”.

In 2014, Clinton’s office released some 55,000 emails to State Department investigators, while admitting that she erased another 33,000. While FBI Director James Comey called Clinton’s actions careless, his agency found no criminal wrongdoing.

For example, when Clinton adviser Jacob Sullivan was sent an email about what the Federal Bureau of Investigation called “pending military activities” by North Korea, Sullivan inferred that “the person at [the State Department] who sent the email must have had reason to believe it could be sent on an unclassified system”, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents summarized Sullivan as saying.

According to the documents, Huma Abedin, one of Clinton’s aides, first noticed the former secretary of state’s exchange with an unrecognized sender on June 28, 2012 that was later revealed to be Obama.

The notes, released Friday, come from interviews with a number of Clinton’s top aides and supporters.

The FBI has previously said that a Platte River employee told interviewers that he had an “oh s-t” moment and took it on himself to destroy the archive when he remembered an earlier request by Clinton aides to purge e-mails after 60 days. In it, Lazar admits he lied to a Fox News reporter about hacking Clinton’s email server, though he had seen her private email address and some exchanges with her after successfully accessing the AOL account of Clinton friend Sidney Blumenthal in 2013.

Agents also interviewed “Guccifer”, the hacker who detailed his successful infiltration of close Clinton friend Sidney Blumenthal’s email account and reviewed 30,000 emails and downloaded 25 attachments.

Katie wrote in February that the story at the time was Obama did correspond with Clinton, but was unaware that her email server was private.

“Not only was Cheryl Mills granted immunity, but she was allowed to advise Hillary Clinton during her own questioning by the FBI”, Priebus said.
