Democrat Hillary Clinton pounced on the tumult, saying the Republican gathering had so far been “surreal”, comparing it to the classic fantasy film “Wizard of Oz”.

Tiffany Trump, the candidate’s 22-year-old daughter from his marriage to Marla Maples, said her father is a “natural-born encourager” who has motivated her to work her hardest.

Bill Pickle, a talk radio host and SC delegate, expressed frustration at what he called “name calling and childish behavior” among some of the speakers.

Asked if he had a wish list, he said no, adding, “I had one”. “What happened to professionalism, manners and humanity in our politicians and citizens?”

Forty-three percent of likely voters supported Clinton in the July 15-19 poll, while 36 percent supported Trump. “This is a movement but we have to go all the way”.
