GOP senators criticize Trump for attacks on federal judge
“We’re going to play in places where Republicans don’t traditionally play in – that’s in addition to the Floridas of the world”, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said in a recent interview. Curiel was born in IN to Mexican-born parents – making him, in Trump’s view, “a hater of Donald Trump”.

Trump dodged the question however, instead replying: ‘He’s a member of a pro-Mexico group and that’s fine.it’s all fine.
“If he was giving me a fair ruling, I wouldn’t say that”, Trump told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Friday, pointing again to Curiel’s background. It’s not at all unreasonable to think that Curiel wants to officiate this particular lawsuit, as a strike at Donald Trump, the wall-builder. “Now, everything is going to be fair but I’m sure the attorney general will take a very good look at it”.
Trump even went further, saying on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that he’d have similar concerns over a Muslim judge, since he has proposed banning all Muslims from entering the United States.
“It’s possible, yes. Yes”.
“It’s possible, yes”, Trump said. They’re here legally. They don’t want people coming and taking their jobs and taking their house and everything else. I’m not talking permanent.
“He’s proud of his his heritage”. And I think that’s great that he’s proud of his heritage. “He’s not treating me fairly”.
“.It has nothing to do with anything except common sense”.
“You know, we have to stop being so politically correct in this country”, the mogul later added. And whatever the outcome (which many of us think will be victory), at the end of it all, failed players like Paul Ryan (and Gingrich if he doesn’t wise up) will be left by the roadside, as roadkill. “And I’m not blaming”.
Though Stephens and I agree on nearly nothing of substance, we both apparently share the belief that a Republican Party chastened by this election would be not only good for Republicans but good for the United States.
“Build that wall!” Trump said to the cheering crowd.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich – and rumored VP pick – blasted Trump’s judge attacks as “one of the worst mistakes Trump has made”. Trump’s legal team has not sought to have Curiel removed. “This is a man who is born in Indiana”. He is an American, period.
“But he’s an American and you keep talking about it’s a conflict of interest because of Mexico”.
Trump also has questioned whether Curiel, who is Hispanic, is biased against him because of his call for deporting immigrants in the US illegally.
“If a liberal were to attack Justice Clarence Thomas on the grounds that he’s black, we would all go insane”, Gingrich said.
When Hillary Clinton says this is racist attack and you reject that, if you are saying he can’t do his job because of his race, is that not the definition of racism?
Trump’s veterans’ fundraiser grew from his feud with Fox News, which led to him boycotting one of the network’s debates and throwing a splashy rally to benefit veterans before the leadoff Iowa caucuses. “This is no longer the primaries”. “He’s no longer an interesting contender”.

McConnell also acknowledged he is concerned that Trump could alienate Latino voters – tipping Latinos into Democrats’ camp and causing the Republican Party a similar problem to the African-American exodus to Democrats after the party’s early-1960s standard-bearer, Barry Goldwater, opposed the Civil Rights Act.
