GOP Spokesman Agrees That Ted Cruz Is An ‘A**Hole’
Time of crisis “Our convention occurs at a moment of crisis for our nation”.

Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president on Thursday night, capping a historic and unlikely run to become the party’s standard-bearer. Underscoring his unorthodox candidacy, Trump doubled down on the hard-line immigration policies that fired up conservatives in the primary but broke with many in his party by promising protections for gays and lesbians. Cruz finished second to Trump in the crowded Republican primary campaign and congratulated the GOP nominee on his victory.
Not long into his speech, he deflected crowd chants of “Lock her up!” by saying he would beat Mrs Clinton in November. The more than hour-long speech was strikingly dark for a celebratory event and nearly entirely lacking in specific policy details.
Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, made the biggest strides toward that goal.
Currently, Trump is neck-in-neck with his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, with Wednesday’s Real Clear Politics’ poll average showing Clinton ahead by a hair, leading by 2.7 points – a mere sliver given that the margin of error is 2 points.
Never in the history of a political convention has a nominee said the country would move forward with scapegoating, Clinton declared.
Well, sort of. President Obama has called for the U.S.to accept 10,000 Syrian refugees, and Hillary Clinton wants a lot more. It was, as political commentators on numerous networks said, a speech unlike any other they’ve heard.
His remarks were briefly interrupted by a Code Pink protester who shouted “He’s a danger to the world! And we will make America great again!”
Ivanka Trump will speak before her father and is considered to have wide appeal among Republican women.
Republican nominee Donald Trump’s final message to the Republican National Convention thanks everyone for helping – except for former 2016 GOP presidential candidate Sen.
“We will lead our country back to safety, prosperity, and peace”.
Arpaio, a famed immigration hard-liner, praised Trump’s border wall, telling the crowd that, “we need a leader who will protect our border and enforce our laws because a nation without borders is a nation without laws is no nation at all”.
And efforts to present Trump’s family members as his character witnesses were mired by revelations that a section of his wife’s speech contained plagiarized material.
But Mr Trump, a NY businessman who was written off when he launched his campaign a year ago, hoped his speech would allay these tensions and unite the party.
Hillary’s legacy “America is far less safe – and the world is far less stable – than when Obama made the decision to put Hillary Clinton in charge of America’s foreign policy…”
He had promised to describe “major, major” tax cuts. But his economic proposals Thursday night were vague, centering on unspecified plans to create millions of jobs.
He will say middle-income Americans and businesses will enjoy tax cuts and taxes will be simplified for everyone.

The last time Trump drew about even with Clinton was in mid-May, after his last two rivals for the Republican nomination dropped out of the race and party leaders started to get behind his campaign. He framed Clinton as incapable of improving conditions in the US and making America more respected around the globe, citing her tenure as secretary of state.
