GOP to kick off convention; Trump to make surprise visit

New York Republicans are counting on Trump to help drive GOP voter turnout in his home state this November, when all 27 of the state’s congressional districts, 213 state legislative seats and a spot in the U.S. Senate will be up for grabs. “It is a remarkable thing”.

Michael Lawler, a delegate for the state’s 17th congressional district, said he’s hoping Trump – whose off-the-cuff comments have repeatedly caused controversy throughout the campaign – will treat the grand stage of the convention with respect.

Donald Trump’s campaign manager says Ohio Sen. Yet his lack of discipline and disorganized campaign has turned off many Republican leaders.

Perhaps most noticeably, past Republican presidents and nominees are taking a hard pass. Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush will not attend and are not supporting Trump – not surprising since Trump viciously attacked Jeb, their son and brother respectively, during the primary. Monday night, at the convention, domestic and global security will be discussed. The GOP nominee said earlier this year that he intends to “open up” libel laws, making it easier to sue news organizations. The convention committee on Sunday released the lineup for the convention, scheduled for Monday through Thursday at the Quicken Loans Arena, home of the National Basketball Association champion Cavaliers.

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump’s campaign has been marred by clashes between those who support the GOP candidate and those who oppose him and his divisive rhetoric. It was unclear until late this weekend whether Rubio would be on the convention speaker’s list. The party said the first night’s theme would be “Make America Safe Again”, followed by a focus on jobs on Tuesday.

The third night will feature Indiana Gov. Pence, as he’s officially nominated for vice president.

At no time will delegates be instructed to leave the convention’s secure zone, Cluster said.

The only professional athlete on the program is pro golfer Natalie Gulbis, after college football star Tim Tebow called his attendance “a rumor”.

The leaders of the movement said they have the support of a majority of delegates in seven states to force the rules passed last week be thrown out. Trump’s younger son, Eric, will speak on Wednesday. “Only two, [Carly] Fiorina and Trump are not elected, so the public started to go for Trump because he is the most outspoken and the most familiar”.

“2004 was anti-war people, so they were a little less violent”, he said.

There are a total of 5,500 law enforcement officers assigned to the RNC, including 3,000 federal officers, 2,000 non-federal officers working the Cleveland Police Department and about 500 Cleveland police officers.

“He does really well on the teleprompters”, Priebus told The Associated Press. “I don’t think a minority report is all that likely, but people have every right to sign a minority report and people have every right to vote against the rules package coming out of the rules committee”.
