Aside from the connectivity options, the Hero+ uses the same sensor as the Hero+ LCD, meaning you’ll be able to record up to 1080p video at 60 frames per second and capture 8-megapixel stills.

GoPro’s portfolio has just gotten a little bigger these days, and now their models have gotten from Hero4 Black as their top-end camera to Hero+ LCD as their cheapest camera yet.

The presence of Wi-Fi and bluetooth connectivity additionally enables smart remote options that allows you to use your smartphone or tablet as an lcd monitor for recording videos.

GoPro has also announced that the Hero 4 Session camera will now be available at $299.99, a cool $100 price cut. It’s pretty wonderful how they manage to pack in the optics, battery, storage and all the other inner workings, as well as the included case which makes the camera instantly waterproof to 40 meters and incredibly rugged.

The main difference between the Hero+ and the Hero+ LCD and Hero is its video resolution. The latter may cost $70 less at $129.99, but it is limited to 1080p video recording at 30 FPS (and at a lower 15 Mbps bitrate), 5 MP photos and a single time-lapse interval.

HERO+: The flawless entry-level GoPro + Wi-Fi. You might have also been put off by the company’s smaller but still expensive HERO4 Session which is priced at $399.99.

“Even as we continue to raise the bar for our highest performing cameras like HERO4 Black, Silver and Session, we remain committed to developing simplified products like HERO+ that make GoPro life-capture accessible to everyone”, said GoPro founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman.
